Board approves budget amendment, privilege licenses, training and other routine administrative items
Summary
The Florence board approved final FYE 09/30/2025 Budget Amendment #3, a list of business privilege licenses for the year, mid-month claims, membership dues and staff attendance at chemical spill response training (Nov. 6, 2025). City Clerk Linda Wigley presented Budget Amendment #3 (final for fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025) and a list of business privilege licenses issued during the fiscal year; the board approved both items by unanimous motion. The board also approved the mid-month claims docket and the minutes of the Oct. 7, 2025 meeting.
Other administrative approvals included payment of $175 to the Mississippi Building Officials' Association for annual membership dues, and authorization to send Mark Hester, Chief Brad Burns, David Myers and Tyler Hayes to Sigma Chemical Spill Response training in Pearl, MS on Nov. 6, 2025, with the city to pay a $135 registration fee for each attendee. The board also authorized the mayor to sign close-out documents for the STP–Eagle Post Road overlay project.
