Consultants and town staff updated the Selectboard on Bristol's water projects, saying the bid opening for the Bristol West project is scheduled for Feb. 12 and that an application is pending for a Step 3 loan that, if awarded, would lock in a 50% subsidy under the state Lead and Copper program. "The bid opening for the Bristol West project is scheduled for February 12," said Jill Marsano of VTUMS.
Marsano said the same Lead and Copper funds are available to support Bristol East and that an application has been submitted. Engineering staff reported some outstanding issues with the State have been resolved, preventing a delay. Staff also reported routine winter work: snow removal at hydrants was completed, a section of Liberty Street is sinking (not adjacent to the water main, with no signs of a leak), and winter pumping is down about 1%.
