The mayor and board authorized the design phase for the Hwy. 49 sewer project on Sept. 2. Alderman John Banks moved to direct City Engineer Tim Parker to begin the design phase; the motion was seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and carried unanimously. Later in the meeting the board again authorized Engineering Service to begin the design phase on the Hwy. 49 North Sewer Project upon recommendation of Mayor Trey Gunn.
The board did not discuss contract amounts or timelines in the minutes; the actions recorded direct city engineering staff and an external engineering service to begin design work, which will be a prerequisite to later bidding or construction authorizations.
