Fire and EMS report: fall events, mutual aid after Hurricane Helene, and EMS volumes

Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix briefed the council on department activity and upcoming events, noting "October 27, 2024 Fall Festival event on Pennsylvania Avenue in Nutter Fort" and that the majority of fire-prevention classes will finish in November. He also said the department sent two personnel south over the weekend to assist with response efforts after Hurricane Helene.
The EMS/Ambulance written report listed 80 emergency calls, 127 basic life-support (BLS) transports and 8 advanced life-support (ALS) transports; the report also noted an extra crew will be on duty for the upcoming Saturday event and that NFFD EMS were recognized on the "Boxing in the Burg" event T-shirts. The written EMS report was submitted to the council rather than read aloud by a named speaker.
