The Town of Bristol Selectboard unanimously approved a motion to award the Bristol West Waterline contract to Munson for $2,422,563 and authorized the town administrator to sign related documents.
Steve Palmer of VTM Engineering told the board his tabulation showed some incomplete packages and that Munson’s bid was approximately $600,000 below his estimate. "Munson's bid of $2,422,563.00" was recommended for acceptance, Palmer said; a phasing plan is expected in about a week. Ian Albinson and Jill Marsano said newly available VWSRF funding makes it likely the town will receive about 50% forgiveness on the VWSRF loan amounts provided for the project.
The board’s motion passed unanimously. Board members present at the meeting were Ian Albinson, Joel Bouvier, Peeker Heffernan (chair), Michelle Perlee (vice chair) and Jessica Teets. The town expects a phasing plan from the engineer within roughly one week and staff will proceed with contract execution and coordination of traffic control during construction.
