Two petitioned articles were considered for placement on the Warning. The board agreed to include a nonbinding resolution expressing support for H.433, a state-level bill related to health care, on the Warning. A second petition asking voters to request the board adopt a pledge regarding equality that specifically referenced Palestinian rights and stated a non-support position toward the Israeli government was not placed on the Warning. Board members and Town Administrator Gregory Faust expressed concerns that the petition’s language could conflict with existing contracts and future funding opportunities; they noted the petition could still be raised from the floor at Town Meeting.
The board amended the Warning to adjust LOT category minimum percentages to provide flexibility and confirmed tax payment dates. Two petitioned questions were received and handled as noted; the amended motion to approve the Warning passed unanimously.
