Selectboard rejects $30,000 shed appropriation; members prefer reserving FEMA funds
Summary

Doug Wellman moved to appropriate $30,000 to build a new town shed using FEMA funds; Mike DeSocio seconded. The board debated prior estimates for a cement garage floor (about $19,000) and a smaller overhang shed (about $4,000 for materials) and whether FEMA funds should be reserved for unexpected storm-related expenses. The motion failed with BM and EMB voting in favor and MD, DW, and EB opposed.
Selectboard members agreed a new shed is needed but differed on whether to commit FEMA funds now or seek Town approval and preserve FEMA monies for contingencies. The board left the issue unresolved and did not adopt the appropriation at the March 18 meeting.
