The Town of Nutter Fort council approved Resolution 2024-03 authorizing staff to apply for a Department of Homeland Security supplemental grant to purchase six license-plate reader cameras and a 10-year software license with no required local match. Police Chief Ron Godwin told the council the vendor quote exceeded expectations but that the DHS grant would cover the entire cost.
Chief Godwin noted the equipment would be useful for heavy traffic on Route 20. The resolution was moved by Natalie Haddix, seconded by Rick Lafferty and passed by unanimous vote. Council did not set additional conditions in the minutes; expected procurement will follow grant award and any grant terms.
