Councilors unanimously approved a motion to partner with Cartoon Headquarters for a Halloween/Fall Festival on Oct. 26. James Vanscoy requested the partnership; Councilor Karen Phillips moved and Rick Lafferty seconded the motion, which passed by unanimous vote. The event is planned as a street fair on PA Avenue from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and organizers proposed inflatables, food trucks, crafts, a beer garden and a radio station.
The council approved the town’s limited role: "The Town would only supply electricity to inflatables," and the record notes the town expects vendors to supply their own equipment. Councilors also noted celebration items purchased for the town’s 100th celebration could be reused to support the event. The festival will replace the Fire Department Halloween party on the town calendar.
