Nutter Fort council approves new Public Works truck, pays off 2015 EMS ambulance

The Nutter Fort Town Council on Aug. 13 approved purchasing a 2024 Ford Super Duty F-350 for the Public Works department and voted to pay off the remaining balance on the 2015 Nutter Fort EMS ambulance, both using sales-and-use tax funds. Councilor Charlene Louk moved to approve the purchase of the F-350; Councilor Karen Phillips seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Council also authorized outfitting for the EMS vehicle. EMS reported quotes totaling $13,958.65 to fit lighting ($9,680.99), striping ($2,935.00) and a custom medical equipment box ($1,342.66). Council approved purchasing those items incrementally "at the discretion of the Treasurer," after a motion by Charlene Louk and second by Bryan Gonzalez. Public Works listed additional outfitting costs for the F-350—snowplow $3,553.00, used radio $1,400.00 and striping $950.00—totaling $5,903.00; the council noted that the FY2024/25 budget already included funds for the snowplow and associated equipment.
The council described its current Public Works fleet (two tool trucks, two dump trucks with plow capability, one summer truck and two plow trucks) and said two vehicles will be replaced with grant funding in the coming year, with additional replacements planned for 2029. The votes on the F-350 purchase and ambulance payoff were unanimous.
