Board members reviewed highway work schedules and emphasized advance notices for property owners who may temporarily lose access. Chair said Parker Road work is scheduled for July 20'24 and Northfield-related work is scheduled in August; the work may require lane restrictions or short full closures and must be communicated to residents and emergency responders.
Members discussed pre-purchasing materials from leftover highway funds, buying an additional air compressor for the garage and the importance of having invoices and contracts broken down by project for FEMA grant audits. Chair warned many FEMA time frames expire at the end of June and recommended the staff request extensions where needed and ensure contractor invoices are itemized by project for compliance and audit trail purposes.
The board asked staff to send letters to affected property owners, post schedules on the town website and Front Porch Forum, notify ambulance and emergency services, and confirm culvert orders and contractor timelines so notices can be issued at least one month in advance when possible.
