Erickson says Mazomanie expects smaller Dane Iowa reimbursement; Board raises concerns after District One EMS lot sale

Village Administrator Curt Erickson reported he was appointed president of the Dane Iowa Wastewater Commission and that the annual 'true-up' reconciliation indicates the Village will receive approximately $53,000 this year, compared with about $86,000 received last year; the reimbursement will be deposited into the Village sewer cash fund.
Erickson also said that District One EMS accepted an offer on the lot next to District One with a closing anticipated around July 13, and that the Village had not been represented during the District One closed session when the offer was discussed. Erickson said financial details were not yet available and would be discussed at District One's June 18 meeting. Member Dawn Forseth reported she was elected Vice President of District One EMS but had been unable to attend a prior meeting.
Board members expressed concern that District One had not informed the Village of potential long-term impacts, including the loss of future tax revenue; Erickson said the Village had indicated it would be willing to contribute toward a purchase if a prior offer had not proceeded. The matters are expected to be discussed at the District One meeting on June 18.
