Planning commission approves additional Sephora signs at North Georgia Premium Outlets

The Dawson County Planning Commission approved a variance Sept. 16 to allow two additional tenant wall signs for Sephora at North Georgia Premium Outlets, 800 Highway 400 S, Suite 400. The commission voted 3-0 to approve the request.
Paul Barron of Lang Signs presented the application on behalf of the outlet and the tenant, saying Sephora would be limited to one sign under the county code and that the variance is sought so the store can “remain competitive.” Planning staff identified the request as VA 25-16 under the Dawson County Land Development Code, Article IX Chapter 129-224(2)(b), which ordinarily limits signage for tenants.
Chairman Jason Hamby conducted the public-comment portion of the hearing; no members of the public spoke in favor or opposition. After closing discussion, Commissioner Steve Sanvi moved to approve the variance, Commissioner Neil Hornsey seconded, and the motion carried 3-0.
The approved variance applies specifically to the tenant signage for Sephora at the parcel listed as Parcel 114 004. No additional conditions or further public testimony were recorded at the meeting.
