Dawson County commissioners voted unanimously on Sept. 18 to extend an existing moratorium on acceptance of residential rezoning applications until Oct. 17, 2025. The motion (Stowers/Bruce) was described as intended to give staff and the board time to realign the county’s comprehensive plan with the land-use ordinance revisions the board was considering.
The extension was approved by a 3-0 vote; one commissioner was absent. No public comment was recorded on the moratorium during the meeting.
