Charleston updates hazard mitigation planning; survey mailed with tax bills

At the Sept. 11 meeting Colleen Kellogg, assistant town clerk, reported on the town’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan update. She said a community input survey was mailed with tax bills and that feedback is now being received; an email was also sent to confirm town and state stakeholders who will serve on the planning team.
Kellogg said staff will work on data and demographic updates and will schedule meetings with the school, highway, and fire departments to document progress toward current goals and future priorities. The minutes set an April 2026 deadline for the plan update to remain on Planning Commission and Selectboard agendas as the work proceeds.
