Audubon County approves over $63,000 in road payments, green-lights MidAmerican permit

Audubon County supervisors on July 14 approved several construction payments and a utility permit as part of routine road and bridge work. The board unanimously approved payment #3 for the LE-8 Bridge Replacement Project in the amount of $34,409.78 and payment #4 for the Mockingbird Avenue Project for $29,026.43 after an update from County Engineer Mitch Rydl.
Rydl also reported that the Mockingbird Avenue project area is open to the public while final work continues, that bridge inspections are underway, and that crews are preparing roadways for the upcoming Ragbrai bicycle event. He briefed the board on recent speed-limit increases and said staff are reviewing areas requiring updated signage for stopping distances, curves and passing lanes. The board also approved a MidAmerican Energy utility permit for S18/19, T81N, R35W (Cameron), 130th Street.
