Committee prioritizes revenue initiatives: paid parking, PILOT policy, harbor revenue and small-lot disposition

Committee members reported progress and next steps on several revenue initiatives. Mr. Chambers, Mr. Brice and Mr. Taus said they will continue pursuing paid in-town parking and will present findings at the next meeting. Mr. Malecki said a proposed PILOT policy will go on the Select Board agenda and he will present it; Ms. Brough will confirm whether the policy has been sent to Town Counsel before Select Board consideration.
Members also discussed Harbor revenue: Mr. Brice recommended consulting the Harbor Advisory Committee about methods to maximize receipts and automate processes to reduce Harbor Master workload. On small-lot property disposition, Mr. Chambers said the dataset is messy but noted that the Martha’s Vineyard Commission has grant funds to assist towns with small-lot inventories; he volunteered to reach out for more information.
