Finance Committee names representatives to capital, personnel, economic development and short-term rental teams

The Oak Bluffs Finance & Advisory Committee on June 4 nominated and approved several representative appointments to town committees.
Mike Taus moved and Donny Brice seconded the nomination of Bob Malecki as the Finance Committee representative to the Capital Improvement Committee (one-year appointment per the bylaw); the roll-call vote was unanimous among those voting (Chambers, McGroarty, Brice, Malecki, Taus) and the motion passed (5-0-0). Later, the committee received and approved two nominations to the Personnel Committee: Donny Brice and Maura McGroarty were each nominated and confirmed by roll-call votes (6-0-0). Mr. Taus also nominated Mr. Malecki to serve on the newly constituted Economic Development Council (three-year term); that nomination passed by roll-call vote (6-0-0). Finally, Mr. Brice was nominated and approved to represent Finance on the Select Board’s ad hoc Short-Term Rental Committee (6-0-0).
"Thanks to Mr. Malecki for doing this, as it’s a tough and important Committee to be on," Ms. McGroarty said when the Capital Improvement Committee nomination was discussed. Votes were recorded in the minutes for transparency; arrivals and departures of members were noted during the meeting.
