Council presses contractor on missed bulky-waste pickups; manager to meet with district council members

Tommy (public works/contractor representative) told council the crew has a weekly route and that Pelican (the contractor) has a district manager and truck teams that can add Saturday pickups when necessary. Tommy said he will meet with district councilmembers and the contractor’s supervisors to tighten routes and improve on-call responsiveness. Councilmembers from larger districts said constituents repeatedly report skipped pickups and asked the administration to explore adding capacity or operational changes if problems continue.
