The Noble County Parks Board scheduled a fall summit for Sept. 23 and said planning meetings will be held Aug. 5 and Aug. 25 to finalize presenters and agenda items. Chair opened the meeting by telling members that “Grace and I and Chris will be meeting on August 5 and the 25th,” and that the board meeting would follow the summit.
Board members said the summit will be used to collect public and stakeholder input that will inform a five-year plan. The board also signaled it will recruit a replacement for Director John, who will leave at the end of the year, and discussed creating two director positions to cover recreational programming and rural/community needs. Chair asked members to suggest candidate names and invited them to attend planning sessions at the Chair’s home if they wished to participate.
Planning logistics and panel invitations were left to the smaller planning group; the Chair said finalized agenda and invitation details will be emailed to the full board after the Aug. 5 meeting. The board also noted Tri County and other regional partners were being considered as potential speakers or panelists at the summit.
