A resident presented a petition asking the board to remove a gate blocking Johnson Road and told the board the route had been open for decades for hunting and fishing. "I got a petition here to remove the gate on the Johnson Road," the resident said, asking the board to investigate ownership and rights of way.
Chris Winger, the board chair, replied that staff would look up property ownership and take the petition for follow-up. "What I can tell you we will do is we'll take your petition, and we'll see if we own the property," he said, adding that if the parcel is private the board's options are limited. Board members recommended the petitioner also contact the power company, because parts of the corridor run along a power line and ownership may lie with the utility. The petitioner left contact information for follow-up.
