Committee introduces RS 32859 to merge Board of Podiatry into Board of Medicine

Ryan Bernard presented RS 32859 and said the bill would merge the Board of Podiatry into the Board of Medicine. "This bill seeks to merge the Board of Podiatry into the board of medicine," Bernard told the committee.
Representative Redmond asked why the draft did not eliminate rules that the statute references; Bernard replied the division has prioritized statutory language to accomplish the merger next year and recommended pulling the draft to address rule changes later. Bernard said, "I think I would rather pull it back and look at that as opposed to going to the amending order for a motion." The committee voted to introduce RS 32859 by voice vote.
