Council keeps fire department transfer at $100,000 for 2025

Staff told the council that the fire department typically transfers $100,000 from its general fund to capital and that an increase to $150,000 had been discussed. After speaking with the department's representative, staff said they were comfortable leaving the transfer at $100,000 for next year because cash balances in both the fire fund and capital fund appear adequate.
The council did not move to change that operating transfer during the workshop; instead the presenter included the $100,000 figure in the draft options and will return with final recommendations once other levy decisions are resolved.
