Two last-minute bids for town-hall painting were submitted and tabled for review. A contractor from St. Johnsbury introduced his family-owned company, described decades of experience and said he included a detailed estimate to help the board evaluate proposals. He noted there was no formal spec for the job and asked whether the building is on a historic register, which could limit color options.
The contractor also raised safety concerns tied to nearby power lines and said Green Mountain Power would need to be involved and provide sign-off before work could proceed. Board members thanked the presenter, said they would review bids and recommended discussing the bid results at the special meeting or the next regular work meeting before awarding the contract.
