"Success in the large animal testing will be a major step forward towards human clinical trials," Christina said, adding that the work is supported by the Slater Technology Fund and the Longevity Investor Network.
Board members probed technical details about the therapeutic approach, and researchers present explained that the company uses particles derived from human stem cells to create an off-the-shelf extracellular-matrix therapeutic. One board member noted the company projects growth to 18 full-time employees by 2026 if large-animal testing succeeds. The motion to award the voucher passed on a voice vote.
