Hidden Springs plans 7-acre reuse irrigation meadow at Long Meadow and 14th

Operations staff told the HSSC the association plans to seed a roughly 7-acre pasture on the Long Meadow/14th parcel to receive reclaimed water via permanent, post-mounted irrigation heads; the area will be agricultural in design and not intended for public access.
Operations Manager Chuck Vertrees described a planned expansion of the WWTF reuse irrigation area at the large meadow near Long Meadow and 14th. Staff plan a roughly 7-acre, seeded pasture irrigated by a grid of permanent, post-mounted heads with approximately 100-foot square spacing; the association has opted for a natural agricultural space rather than a manicured turf park. Final design, irrigation construction and planting timing are still to be determined, and Vertrees said some construction activity is expected over the next couple of months.
The committee discussed the intended restricted access and aesthetics: the area will be irrigated and mowed periodically but "will not be conducive to public/resident access," according to staff, and the crop will need to meet IDEQ requirements for nitrogen and water uptake to qualify for reclaimed-water reuse. No final planting schedule or contractor name for construction was specified at the meeting.
