Claycomo board adopts ordinance adding provisions on dangerous drugs to narcotics code
Summary
The Claycomo Board of Trustees adopted an ordinance amending Section 16-11 to add a provision on dangerous drugs after first and second readings and a unanimous roll-call vote.
Chairman Terry Bradich opened the ordinance consideration by reading the first reading of Bill No. 3080: "An Ordinance amending section 16-11 prohibition of possession, sale, manufacture, distribution, of drug or narcotic paraphernalia, by adding section 16-11 B on dangerous drugs." Melody Wymore performed the second reading before the board voted.
Trustee Larry Barrera moved to adopt the measure (recorded as Ordinance No. 3079); Trustee Renee Hoppe Keelin seconded. The roll call showed Trustees Barrera, Jett, Benton, Keelin and Chairman Bradich voting "Yea." The motion carried, and the board approved the new code language intended to address dangerous drugs alongside existing prohibitions on paraphernalia. The ordinance text as read places the new subsection within Section 16-11 of the village code.
The ordinance vote was recorded as unanimous among the recorded voters. The board offered no amendments during the meeting; the ordinance will be entered into the municipal code as read.
