Board discussion emphasized resilience: staff recommended increasing the town's recommended minimum driveway culvert from 15 to 18 inches. “Most of the towns are all going to 18 now because the fifteen's just don't hold up,” one roads official said, and board members agreed to update the town's driveway permit language accordingly. The board approved the formal adoption and the certificate by voice vote.
The board also approved motions to file letters of intent for municipal road programs (including inventory and Better Backroads grants) so the town can pursue grant funding for culvert inventories and repairs. Staff will bring edited permit language and formal contract or procurement language to a future meeting before implementing vendor or permit changes.
