Clerk to send verification letter for DMV registration listing New York mailing address

The clerk reported receiving a voter registration from the DMV for a person named Scott Shortino who gave 258 Teller Road as a legal address but listed a New York City mailing address. The clerk said the only way to contact the registrant was by mail and recommended sending a challenge/verification letter to confirm intent to register locally.

Board members agreed that a verification letter should be sent and noted that if the registrant confirms they intend to register here but also remain registered elsewhere, the board could pursue a formal challenge. "It would basically be just did you intend to register here?" the clerk said. The board asked the clerk to send the letter promptly because the election is imminent.
