The clerk-like speaker (S2) gave administrative updates: candidate petitions for the March election are due Monday, January 26, and the town has several elective positions to fill including auditor (3-year), library trustee seats, moderator, select-board seats and treasurer. "Candidate petitions are due Monday, January 26," S2 said, noting some typographical errors in the draft notice.
S2 also reported that LHS, the company maintaining voting tabulators, inspected and tested the machine with sample ballots and updated the software in advance of March elections. Separately, the town signed a yearly online land-records contract with COTS and processed an annual payment of $2,210, moving from prior monthly payments to an annual fee.
