Chimney Hill board approves purchase of tax-sale lot; lot-program shows progress

Executive Director James Walker reported that one Chimney Hill Owners Association lot is listed in an upcoming Town tax sale. Board members discussed the parcel's location in source-protection areas and outstanding taxes; Kevin Comeau moved to approve purchase of the lot and Kate Trinklein seconded the motion. The board approved the purchase.
Walker also updated the board on the lot program: he reported it is approximately 60% complete, with 40 lots removed from CHOA records and tax obligations over the past 3.5 years. He said the association still owns about 130 lots, 29 of which were listed for sale and about 30 potentially to be converted into common land. Walker reported that DRL program fees have generated just shy of $500,000 in income during the three-year period, matching the amount generated in the prior 22 years.
