Hidden Springs farm committee cites Bloomberg grant for Serenity Garden; Open Space completes Dry Creek trail

The Farm Committee and Open Space Committee presented 2024 results and 2025 priorities. Farm Committee co-chairs Sharon Cauchi and Jennifer Stanislaw described work on the Serenity Garden (a redesign using drought-tolerant plantings, new seating and repurposed features) and credited volunteers for hardscape and planting work. The committee reported receiving a Bloomberg Philanthropies Climate Action grant (via the City of Boise) of $3,200 to purchase plants and artwork.
Open Space Committee chair Chuck Vertrees said the all-weather trail along Dry Creek and the farm was completed in 2024. The committee’s 2025 goals include ongoing weed mitigation, fire-wise education and native species rehabilitation; a weed-identification app to report invasive species is under development. Volunteers were singled out for projects including a fire hydrant painting effort and trail work.
