LSO flags welfare administrative shifts and a one-time Medicaid eligibility systems request

Alex Williamson told the committee that the Division of Welfare included several enhancements tied to changes in federal-state administrative cost shares under recent legislation. He said a $4,300,000 shift will show as a general-fund increase related to SNAP administrative cost changes, while noting the net all-funds impact is roughly neutral.
Williamson also said the department requested $1,800,000 ongoing to implement work-requirement verification changes (a 50/50 general-federal split) and a $1,900,000 one-time request to make system changes for Medicaid eligibility redeterminations to move from every 12 months to every six months. He characterized the Medicaid and mental-health slides as summaries and referred detailed Medicaid questions to the Division of Medicaid materials and prior JFAC hearings.
