City staff presented two janitorial-service proposals (Real Clean and Classic Cleaning) and recommended the council consider transitioning from an individual hourly contractor to a formal company contract for liability and consistency. Councilmembers discussed local sourcing and insurance concerns and voted to table the matter until September to solicit additional local bids and confirm vendor insurance and scope.
Separately, the council adopted a digital-board policy (Resolution 2024-29) that defines what can be posted and who may request content for the city’s new board. The council also approved an investment-policy update (Resolution 2024-30) recommended by the finance committee to simplify language, add a small set of additional brokers and align the policy with neighboring communities’ practices; both resolutions passed 5-0.
Staff will post the janitorial solicitation on the city page and return vendor comparisons in September; the investment-policy changes take effect per the city's usual implementation procedures.
