True Health chief medical officer urges prevention, screening and local referrals

Dr. Corinna Seniors, chief medical officer at True Health, told the Healthy Seminole Show that the center provides a wide spectrum of primary-care services for patients from young children to older adults and emphasized prevention as the primary strategy. "True Health is what we call a federally qualified health center," Seniors said, noting the center has served the Sanford community since 1977.
Seniors described routine clinical activities (medical history, physical exam, lab work and referrals) and specialty links: diabetic patients receive eye screening for retinopathy, visiting podiatry examines feet for wounds or neuropathy, and True Health can arrange dental or specialty referrals when needed. "We may set somebody up to go to an eye doctor, or we can actually run some testing in office where we can do, eye exams..." she said.
Seniors stressed prevention through annual wellness visits, routine labs and age-appropriate cancer screening (colorectal screening with colonoscopy or at-home tests such as Cologuard, mammograms for women over 40, and cervical screening cadence changes).
