An assistant deputy attorney general opened a Legal Services Corporation forum in Kentucky and introduced Chris Evans as the director of the state's Opioid Abatement Commission. The speaker said the Commonwealth had "brought in over $900,000,000 in settlements" and noted that Attorney General Russell Coleman added at least $100,000,000 more to the abatement fund.
Chris Evans told the audience the commission aims to support organizations that can sustain services in communities and avoid wasting funds. He framed the commission's work as three priorities: supporting sustainable efforts, removing barriers to employment, and recognizing the role of every staff member in delivering community services. Evans closed by thanking Legal Services Corporation and attendees for their work.
