Trustees approve resolution to create Inola community advisory committee to study industrial-park concerns

The resolution (2026‑10) would create a Community Accountability Review and Engagement Committee to review projects proposed for the industrial park and to make recommendations to the board. A council member said changes were needed to ensure no single official could remove members unilaterally; the board agreed to include majority‑vote protections and procedures for continuity if a board member leaves.
Community speakers told the board the committee should be focused and credible. "We are offering to have community members to do the work to review community concerns with projects going into the industrial park and work on acceptable solutions," Chris Ramos said. Several trustees said they would rather see the committee recruit or invite applicants broadly rather than the council handpick members, while others suggested adopting the resolution now and amending it later as interest grows.
A motion to adopt the resolution with the understanding the language could be amended was made and approved by voice vote. The council asked staff to accept suggested edits, coordinate further outreach, and allow the committee to begin scheduling work once membership is settled.
