The Elberta Village Council on June 18 adopted Resolution #2026-005 accepting a Financially Distressed Cities, Villages, and Townships (FDCVT) grant to support a water meter replacement project. The resolution authorizes the Village President, Clerk and Treasurer to take necessary steps to implement the project; the motion carried by roll call with four ayes and one member absent.
Following adoption of the resolution, the council approved a proposal from Fleis & VandenBrink for $18,700 to assist with the FDCVT water meter replacement project. The consultant contract was approved by motion of Wilkins and seconded by Holmes; the vote was recorded as 4 ayes, 1 absent. The approvals together move the village from grant acceptance toward contracting for project implementation.
