Residents urge county to track eminent-domain risk as data-center development rises

Toomey told the commission "the issue of eminent domain around data centers, I think is something we all should pay attention to," noting neighboring counties' moratoriums as temporary measures (speaker 14). David Seal announced a public symposium on July 28–29 to discuss imminent-domain concerns, data centers, and state law and cited survey results and media reporting that he said show broad public concern. Commissioners acknowledged the topic will return as a formal agenda item (Resolution 2026-35 was noted as forthcoming) and indicated staff and commissioners would follow up with additional information and scheduling for presentation.
