At the meeting staff circulated updated application materials and a revised fee schedule for Landmarks submissions and announced plans for the 2025 awards. "COA for residential is $50, and then commercial work that does not require a building permit is $100. For commercial work that does require a building permit, that's $350," staff said, and described a separate $25 fee for a landmark-exclusion consultation. Staff also said they will send awards nomination forms ahead of the April meeting and that award presentations are typically scheduled for the first council meeting in May (historic-preservation month).
Staff asked commissioners to enroll in multifactor authentication for city email accounts to protect official communications and simplify public-records responses. Staff offered IT assistance and a contact phone number for setup. Commissioners also discussed recruiting student volunteers from local high schools for recurring spring-cleanup events and agreed staff would contact the schools and report back before the next meeting.
Staff described changes to the paint-repair grant application to reduce confusion (keeping the paint-repair application separate from COA submissions) and to include required demographic and CDBG logo details cited by the county audit.
