Council gives conceptual support to Shannondale Road development plan, but conditions remain

After a site visit, the council expressed conceptual support for the owner’s Shannondale Road proposal involving a land swap and re-establishment of Lot 10, but said formal approval requires a written proposal, land-use change from Conservation, a variance for frontage, deeded access to the Preserve and a contract addressing access and other stipulations.
Council reported a January 18 site visit and said members are conceptually in favor of a development proposal for the 202 Shannondale Road property that includes a land swap and re-establishment of Lot 10 as originally platted.
Council members emphasized the need for a written proposal and contract, a land-use change for the portion now shown as Conservation, and at least a variance for front footage. Access to the Preserve and other stipulations must be addressed in the deed and contract. Mayor Russ Nidy said the town would prefer single-family residences on the two lots rather than a duplex if the owner’s proposal is not accepted.
