Council approved the Third Addendum to the 1959 Water Agreement among the City of Preston, Preston East Side Water Company and Consolidated Irrigation Company on April 27. Attorney Lyle Fuller presented the amendment, which extends the agreement an additional 25 years and releases Consolidated Irrigation Company from further mutual covenants, removing them as a contracting party going forward.
Council minutes note the amendment preserves an emergency supplemental water source last used in 1976–1977 and estimated at 400–500 gallons per minute. The amendment was approved by unanimous vote and Mayor Dan Keller was authorized to sign the agreement.
