Council approves Denton Acres Phase I plat; developer to pay sewer upgrade difference

The Preston City Council approved the Denton Acres Subdivision Final Plat, Phase I, and directed staff to prepare bid packets and amend the development agreement to cover sewer repairs and an upsized pipe.
Director of City Planning and Land Use Shawn Oliverson told the council the existing 4th North sewer line "was determined to be an 8" line, that will need to be upgraded to a 10" line," and the developer, Tony Crockett, will pay the additional cost for the larger pipe. Phase I will create eleven new lots for homes and includes an open space agreement covering 7.91 acres; 3.07 acres will be deeded to the City of Preston and the HOA will manage remaining open space.
Council approved the plat with four conditions: receipt of the DEQ report; submission of HOA governing documents (CC&Rs); amendment of the development agreement reflecting the sewer work and developer payment for the 8" to 10" pipe cost difference; and an Open Space Agreement deeding 3.07 acres to the city. The motion passed unanimously.
