Council Hears Update on $500,000 CDBG-Funded Wastewater Plant Work; $453,250 Spent

At a public hearing on April 27, Kate Selvage of the Southeast Idaho Council of Governments said the City of Preston has expended $453,250.00 of a $500,000.00 Idaho Community Development Block Grant allocated for grant administration and engineering on the Preston Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project.
Selvage told the council that the majority of the grant funds paid engineering costs and that remaining work for the project includes fencing, completion of punch-list items and system startup. Councilmember Brent Dodge asked how Keller Associates would continue to be engaged if engineering services were fully billed to the grant; Selvage said Keller’s contract is also funded from other sources. The hearing drew no public comments and was closed by unanimous motion.
