The Cloud Lake Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-01, endorsing the Palm 2024 Local Mitigation Strategy Plan and satisfying a condition for receiving federal mitigation assistance and participating in the Community Rating System (CRS), which can reduce residents’ flood-insurance premiums.
Council Member John Tyson moved adoption and Council Member Kathleen Hoock seconded; the resolution passed on a 4-0 vote with Council Member Alexandra Powell-Sardinas absent. Council members said the action ensures the town remains eligible for federal mitigation assistance and maintains requirements tied to the CRS discount program for flood insurance.
