LeAnn Gelskey, Talking Book Service Program Supervisor, presented two policy updates: revisions to the Electronic Resources Collection Development Policy that incorporate Talking Book Service collection-development details, and updates to the Idaho Talking Book Service Governing Use Policy to align with National Library Service (NLS) requirements.
"The updated policy incorporates Talking Book Service collection development details, including the NLS parental acknowledgement form requirement," Gelskey said. Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt both policies. The Electronic Resources Collection Development Policy was adopted on a motion by Dawn Wittman with Janet Franklin and Michael Strickland seconding; the Talking Book Service Governing Use Policy was moved by Franklin and seconded by Wittman.
The Talking Book Service update also specifies that users leaving the service should return all materials. The board adopted the policies as presented; staff will implement the changes and follow existing procedures to communicate the changes to users and partner libraries.
