Town Administrator Scott Devers delivered a multi-part facilities and infrastructure update, telling trustees the town is soliciting architectural qualifications for a proposed new fire station, library and possible conference center and has asked HUB to develop a task order to study drainage on the southeast side of town. Devers also said the town is getting estimates to expand office space and that bids are being issued for grants related to 12-inch water lines.
Devers reported a June 6 fundraiser at Harp's to benefit the police and fire departments, scheduled 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and said staff are addressing recurring meter problems: "Zenner has been failing and the PWA guys have been having to manually read 70 to 100 meters a month," he told the board. Trustees did not take action on the capital projects at the meeting but authorized staff to continue preparing qualifications, estimates and task orders.
The update also noted the 412 frontage roads matter remains in committee in Washington, indicating some projects are contingent on external processes and funding. Trustees did not set specific spending approvals for the capital items during this session.
