Board adopts Noncompliance Policy to govern ICfL grant recipients

The Idaho Board of Library Commissioners unanimously adopted a new Noncompliance Policy at its Oct. 16 meeting to set procedures for addressing grant compliance issues.
State Librarian Stephanie Bailey-White told the board that, although few compliance problems have arisen historically, the policy is needed as the ICfL prepares to award federal digital access funds to both libraries and nonlibrary entities, including state agencies and nonprofits. The policy requires grantees to sign agreements and gives the ICfL discretion to extend deadlines while staff works with grantees to resolve issues. Commissioner Dawn Wittman moved to adopt the policy and Commissioner Norma Staaf seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
