Board names Mike Gottlieb acting chair after conflict over Chair Pollie Carter

Vice Chairman Mike Gottlieb opened the Oregon Shores Beach Club, Inc., Unit 1 board meeting on Jan. 8 and the session quickly turned to a dispute over Chair Pollie Carter’s leadership. The majority of the board said it no longer had confidence in Carter’s performance and had asked her by text and email to resign her position and her seat; Pollie rejected that request and refused to step down. "Pollie is not going to resign," the transcript records.
After discussion about whether the matter should have been handled in an executive session, the board moved to appoint Mike Gottlieb as acting chairman until a residents’ vote. Matt Nelson seconded the motion and the board approved it. The board also moved and passed a motion to add attendee Bill Springer to the board despite one objection from Tim McDermott. The minutes show the motions passed but do not record a roll-call tally. The board then proceeded with the rest of the meeting.
