The Idaho Board of Library Commissioners approved an expenditure of up to $34,000 from the Library Services Improvement Fund to cover an uptick in continuing education grant applications and to support a second year of Creative Aging workshops, State Librarian Stephanie Bailey-White told the board.
Vice-Chair Janet Franklin moved to approve the LSIF expenditure; Commissioners Norma Staaf and Dawn Wittman seconded simultaneously, and the motion carried unanimously. Bailey-White said the funding request responds to higher-than-expected grant demand and will allow the ICfL to cover additional successful continuing education grant applications this fiscal year.
Board minutes record the approval as an action item (Board Document 25-19). Staff will implement the expenditures according to the agency’s grant procedures and the LSIF guidelines.
